urban passageways and, as a result, the vast amount of activities required to maintain and improve the quality of these passageways, require a system to provide a complete and updated information on the status quo to target resources allocation, thus prevents waste by duplication and unnecessary actions. Therefore, designing and implementing an intelligent road management system based on CES, can play an effective role in improving the quality and reducing the cost of maintenance of the streets. In this study, while analyzing the specifications of this system and the way and extent of its impact on urban civil engineering, the outstanding role of CES in providing data and types of required analysis will be addressed. Below are some of the features of this software in the management and maintenance of the passageways:
1- Management and maintenance of passageways, sidewalks and canals
2. Estimated volume of asphalt required based on geographic database
3- Estimated volume of materials required on the basis of geographic database for paving sidewalks
4- Calculates the length of the canal or waterway for curbing or maintenance and clearing.
5- Calculates the funds needed for asphalting, paving or restoration of a specific street
6- Determines the priority of the passageways for reconstruction of asphalt (e.g. every 5 years)
7- Products various types of maps with different scales (even larger than 1:2000) for project management and control, and field inspections.
8- Creates reporting from a specific street based on the date of asphalting, restoration, name, profile, and type of the contractor, contract date and so on.
9- Calculates all financial details for asphalting, restoration and maintenance of passageways, sidewalks and canals for a specific street based on the market price.
10- Manages and rankes contractors by type, quality and accuracy in work and work commitments
11- Facilitates the procedures to make contracts and avoids waste of unnecessary costs.
